In this school assignment, each student was given a fragment of the poem “O cão sem plumas”, from João Cabral de Melo Neto, a Brazilian Concrete Poet. Students could use their fragments in several ways, either interpreting it or using it as a starting point to some study to be delivered in a printed piece.
My fragment led me to reflect upon my future. I asked five friends to write me a letter imagining what their lives would be like in 2014 in a certain city. I built a visual matrix assigning a pictogram to each one, using their calligraphy and informations from their location such as the city map and a country stamp. From that I produced posters which were torn and bound into a booklet representing our fragmented and intertwined lifes.
